Christa Construction’s Rob Ryan, P.E. and Alan McNiff Earn LEED Accreditation From U.S. Green Building Council

Rochester, NY– Christa Construction, LLC is pleased to announce that Senior Project Manager, Rob Ryan, P.E. and Project Manager, Alan McNiff have been named LEED® Accredited Professionals (LEED AP) by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Successful completion of the LEED exam verifies that a candidate has an understanding of green building practices and principles, and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes.  USGBC recognizes a LEED AP as having the skills necessary to participate in the design process, to support and encourage integrated design, and to streamline the application and certification process.

The LEED Green Building Rating System is a voluntary standards and certification program that defines high-performance green buildings, which are more environmentally responsible, healthier and more profitable structures. Developed by the USGBC, the LEED standard has been adopted nationwide by federal agencies, state and local governments, and interested private companies as the guideline for sustainable building.

LEED accredited professionals are experienced building industry practitioners who have demonstrated their knowledge and capacity to facilitate the LEED certification process on the LEED Professional Accreditation Exam. The exam tests an individual’s understanding of green building practices and principles, as well as familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes.

Christa is actively working with a number of clients in pursuit of LEED certification for their buildings. The LEED Green Building Rating System earns building owners credits for satisfying specified green building criteria. The five major environmental categories of review include sustainable sites; water efficiency; energy and atmosphere; materials and resources; and indoor environmental quality. There are four progressive levels of certification: Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
