Successful completion of the LEED exam verifies that a candidate has an understanding of green building practices and principles, and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes. USGBC recognizes a LEED AP as having the skills necessary to participate in the design process, to support and encourage integrated design, and to streamline the application and certification process.  LEED accredited professionals are experienced building-industry practitioners who have demonstrated their knowledge and capacity to facilitate the LEED certification process on the LEED Professional Accreditation Exam.
