A successful Preconstruction Coordinator plays a crucial role in the early phases of construction projects, focusing on planning, coordination, and execution of preconstruction activities for commercial construction projects while promoting Customer Satisfaction through quality, service and value.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Works with the Preconstruction Team to solicit and follow-up on status of bid proposals from subcontractors.
- Assists Preconstruction Team with plan and specification distribution, printing needs, creating binders & labels, files estimates, and meeting minutes.
- Maintain and expand subcontractor database through sub mining.
- Maintains subcontractor prequalification data, sends reminders and ensure annual updates are complete.
- Maintains subcontractor requalification data, sends reminders and ensures annual updates are complete.
- Manage the bidders call list to ensure bid coverage.
- Assist with compiling and tracking bid RFI log.
- Assist with MWBE outreach:
- Assisting with call lists and the calls themselves.
- Assisting with saving and printing proposals (Mainly on bid days).
- Printing drawings.
- Helping manage pipeline (adding new companies, updating companies with bad contact info).
- Managing subcontractor registrations.
- Coordinating bid schedules.
- Uploading drawings to the Procore module.
- Regional preemptive sub mining and research of strong subs for project pipeline.
- Help draft contract exhibits, enumeration of documents.
- Save latest version of plans / specs to Procore (drive) and possibly upload to the drawings / specs App in Procore as well.
- Track down paperwork for pre-qualification process
- Save & print quotes for estimators during OTB as needed
- Document RFI’s during bid process, & investigate future submittals via Procore
- Print drawings / specs Reporting/Communication Expectations
QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Top candidates will have 2-5 years of experience in preconstruction or project coordination. Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and materials. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Top candidates will also have intermediate to advanced skills in the use of technology including MS Office products, PROCOR. Advanced skills and/or education in comparable programs will be considered equivalent.
A Pre typically have a range of physical requirements, including:
- Office Work:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer and attending meetings.
- Manual dexterity for typing, filing, and handling documents.
- Communication:
- Good hearing and speech to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.
- Safety Awareness: Understanding and adhering to safety protocols is crucial.
Compensation for qualified candidates is determined by multiple factors including but not limited to verifiable experience, education, and technical skills. The pay range for this position is: $20-$30 an hour.
