A successful Project Engineer at Christa will assist in the overall administrative and technical management of specified projects, while promoting Customer Satisfaction through quality, service and value. Utilization of this position is dependent of size, scope, and complexity of the project. Incumbents are normally second in command on large, complex projects. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assists and eventually manages all document changes for the project(s) assigned. All addendums, ASI’s, bulletins, etc. must be logged in, and current drawing sets must be updated and distributed to all applicable subcontractors and vendors.
  • Creates and submits all project RFI’s in coordination with the project team (Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager and Project Superintendent). Returned RFIs are to be logged in and distributed to all applicable subcontractors and vendors. They may have responsibility for broader aspects of construction (i.e., submittal, RFI, and document controls), and/or other departments (i.e., safety, site supervision and coordination, etc.) depending on the size and scope of the project. All done under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager. Returned submittals are to be logged in and distributed to all applicable subcontractors and vendors.
  • Attends meetings at the direction of the Project Manager and takes detailed notes as required.
  • Assists in the tracking of material procurement and deliveries in coordination with the project team.
  • Prepares and distributes project meeting minutes in coordination with the Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager.
  • Maintains all changes to project by posting drawings, updating ProjectSight and creating as-built drawings
  • Updates Project Logs as directed by the Project Manager (i.e. submittal, RFI)
  • Assists in creating work to complete and punch lists in the field in coordination with the site Superintendent.
  • Creates closeout binders at end of project under the direction of the Project Manager
QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Top candidates will have 3-5 years of commercial construction project experience (preferably in wood frame multi-family projects) or have equivalent experience in comparable work or education. Top candidates will also have (or develop) skills in the use of technology including MS Office products, PROCOR, and P6/Oracle. Advanced skills in comparable programs will be considered equivalent. 

Assistant Project Managers typically have a range of physical requirements, including:

  1. Mobility: Ability to move around job sites, which may involve climbing stairs, ladders, or scaffolding.
  2. Stamina: Capability to work long hours, often on-site, which can include standing for extended periods and walking significant distances.
  3. Vision: Good eyesight for reading blueprints, plans, and safety signage, as well as inspecting work.
  4. Hearing: Ability to hear instructions, warnings, and safety alerts in a noisy construction environment.
  5. Manual Dexterity: While not as hands-on as other roles, assistant project managers may need to use tools or equipment occasionally, so basic manual skills can be beneficial.
  6. Strength: While not always required, some physical strength may be necessary for tasks like lifting or carrying equipment, especially during site visits.
  7. Coordination: Good hand-eye coordination is useful for tasks that require writing, reviewing plans, or interacting with technology.
  8. Safety Awareness: Understanding and adhering to safety protocols is crucial, as construction sites can pose various hazards.

Compensation for qualified candidates is determined by multiple factors including but not limited to verifiable experience, education, and technical skills. The pay range for this position is: $40-$55k annually
