A Catholic elementary school that educated generations of South Buffalo residents takes on a new life. Christa Construction provided general contractor services for the Diocese of Buffalo and developer, Delta Development of Western New York Inc.
The Holy Family Senior Apartments is an adaptive reuse project that comprises of 30 one-bedroom and 5 two-bedroom apartment units.
The three-story apartment complex serves those who are 55 years and older with low- and moderate- income. Catholic Charities of Buffalo is one of the lead agencies to provide support services to the residents.
Design of the building incorporates the Green Build Initiative Design Requirements focused on providing an attractive, sustainable, comfortable, safe environment for elderly residents. All windows are energy efficient; central heating and air conditioning has been designed to provide a 30 percent more energy efficient building, supporting both state and city initiatives for energy efficiencies in both new construction and rehabilitation projects.
Amenities include heat, water and gas included in rent, a community room, on-site laundry facility, secure entry system, in-unit appliances. Apartment units are also non-smoking, pet-friendly units.
