May 6, 2024 Christa Celebrates Center City Courtyard Groundbreaking
May 6, 2024 (Rochester, NY) – Christa Construction alongside City of Rochester and NYS officials, broke ground today for the start of construction of Center City Courtyard.
Center City Courtyard will be a 164-unit affordable/supportive housing community, where 95 apartments will be reserved for those at-risk for homelessness.
These residents will have access to on-site supportive services and rental subsidies funded through the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative and administered by the Office of Mental Health. The service providers are Helio Health, the Urban League of Rochester, and Eagle Star Housing.
Governor Hochul announced the start of construction project saying that, “Bringing 164 modern homes will not only improve lives and set residents on a path to success, but thanks to the development’s energy-efficient design, we’re also building a stronger, healthier, and greener community for all.”
Once complete, the residents will be able to enjoy the amenities provided by this affordable housing community. The building will have community rooms, supportive offices, lounge spaces, a parking garage and a rooftop garden. The courtyard, will also feature bed gardens and picnic areas for residents to enjoy.
Project partners include CSD Housing, HELPDevCo, and Passero Associates. This project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2025.
