In 2009, the Finger Lake Addictions Counseling and Referral Agency (FLACRA), a provider of Residential and Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services to the residents of the Finger Lakes was selected to renovate Building 14 and construct new apartments for Veterans on the Canandaigua VA Campus. The renovation produced transitional housing for Veterans with substance abuse and/or Mental Health problems. In addition, a new 17-apartment unit was constructed to accommodate permanent supportive Affordable housing for any Veteran and their family. The completed project consists of:

  • A 15-bed Community Residence providing substance abuse services, physical and mental health stabilization, and vocational rehabilitation and employment skills.
  • 8 Supportive Living units housing 11 individual residents.
  • 17 new construction Apartments with 14 one-bedroom, 2 two-bedroom and 1 three-bedroom units. These units accommodate Veterans coming out of Building 14, other community programs, or Veterans with families.

Cadence Square Apartments offers independent living on the Canandaigua VA Medical Center (VAMC) Campus in a new, quiet, pristine environment. The unique location allows veterans direct access to VAMC services just a short walk from their home.
