The RIT Residence Hall Renovations project revitalized student housing across multiple campus buildings, including Residence Halls A–D, Baker C+D, Colby A–E, Gleason, Ellingson, Helen Fish A+B, and Carlton Gibson Hall. This comprehensive initiative focused on upgrading mechanical systems, dorm rooms, bathrooms, corridors, stairwells, and common areas to elevate the quality, comfort, and functionality of campus living. Students now enjoy refreshed dorm environments featuring modern wood-paneled room markers, energy-efficient LED lighting, and expanded community spaces designed to promote connection and collaboration.

Renovations included:

  • Demolition and installation of new corridor lighting fixture
  • Acoustic ceiling tile installation
  • Full painting of corridors, stairwells, and common areas
  • New heating and cooling systems in dorm rooms and common spaces
  • Complete modernization of shared bathrooms
  • New carpet tile and luxury vinyl tile throughout corridors and lounges

This transformative project reflects RIT’s commitment to providing students with safe, modern, and welcoming residential spaces that support both academic success and personal well-being.
