The 114 Rt. 28 Apartments reimagines a former 40-year-old Quality Inn hotel, into a trauma-informed mixed use residential campus which addresses Ulster County’s urgent need for permanent and supportive housing. This adaptive reuse transforms 145 hotel rooms into 83 apartments and repurposes attached commercial spaces for supportive services including therapeutic facilities, childcare, and culinary programs. The campus is designed for individuals and families experiencing homelessness and earning 30-50% AMI, the project prioritizes dignity, community connection, and long-term stability.
The redevelopment will offer residents access to a new saltwater therapeutic pool, large community room, laundry and trash rooms, as well as green outdoor spaces. With supportive and childcare services on site, this campus aims to provide residents with the tools and support they deserve to thrive.
The 88,118 square foot project will consolidate 145 rooms into 83 apartments with 26 studio, 29 one-bedroom, 22 two-bedroom, and 6 three-bedroom units. 70 of these units will be reserved as supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness and 12 will be reserved for families at or below 50% AMI.
