May 30, 2024 Christa Celebrates the Ribbon Cutting of Olympic Avenue Apartments

May 29, 2024 (Buffalo, NY) – Christa Construction celebrated the ribbon cutting of Olympic Avenue Apartments. This adaptive reuse of School 78 has provided the neighborhood with affordable and supportive housing.

All of the units are available to low-income household, where eight units are available for disabled individuals who will have access to on-site supportive services. Community amenities include a playground and community garden. This apartment complex also provides free internet.

Historic preservation initiatives were included through the restoration of brick and stone masonry, repair on historic windows, the decorative metal railing, interior plasterwork, and removal of suspended ceilings to reveal their historic height.

This project is also environmentally friendly, as it has energy-efficient upgrades such as a new electrical system, fuel-efficient heating/cooling, and more.
