Affordable & Supportive Housing Gateway Apartments – 129 Units

As the General Contractor, Christa Construction is leading the full rehabilitation of the seven-story Gateway Building at 150 East Main Street. The project includes converting the long-vacant structure into 129 mixed-income apartments, installing all-new MEP systems, completing structural reinforcement where required, and replacing the existing mirrored façade with a modern, energy-efficient exterior that reflects the building’s original architectural character. Ground-floor commercial space will also be constructed to support future retail activities.

Our team is managing all building upgrades, unit build-outs, and site coordination efforts to support the broader East Main Street redevelopment. Work includes integrating the building with planned pedestrian and public-realm improvements, addressing age-related structural and infrastructure conditions, and ensuring safe, efficient construction within a tight urban corridor. The result will be a modern, durable residential building that contributes to the ongoing revitalization of downtown Rochester.
